I was originally going to go to sleep around 1am. That is a fairly normal time for someone to go to sleep when they do not have to wake up early the next day, right?
And then I got caught up reading webcomics/blogs and talking to my drunken
ex-boyfriend. On AIM, of course. There is no way I would actually be talking to him in person if he was drunk. Actually, I probably wouldn't even stay in the same room as him if he were drunk. None of this is the point.
And then there was the train. I live close enough to a train track that I hear it blowing its horn at every street it crosses for about a 2 mile radius. That is approximately 6 or so streets.
So while drunk!ex is talking to me, I occasionally type "TRAIN!!!" to him, which just makes him talk about even more random stuff than he was before.
Strangely enough, the Ex runs out of alcohol around 3AM. After several jokes about "why is the rum gone??" he decided to go to sleep. Then he realized he didn't have to get up tomorrow because his only class had been cancelled. This didn't keep him up much longer and he left before 3:30am.
I went back to reading the comics/blogs until around 4am when I decided that I needed to write a "Good morning!" email to my
boyfriend. This consisted of a
heart-shaped potato and an
abandoned clown train. Then I suddenly got it into my head that maybe I should just stay up all night and go to bed at a normal time tomorrow/tonight. Maybe Adam will love me more if I sleep at the same time as him. (I still haven't slept yet so I am not sure if this is a valid idea or not).

Either way, while suddenly writing a second email to him saying I was thinking about staying up all night, I got about 39 different messages from Ken asking if I were still awake. Yes, I am still awake. It does not say I am idle because I am not idle. I informed Ken of my idea of staying up all night. Talked to Ken about StarCraft 2 and kittens and those little phi-shaped symbols on my emails that are either red or green and I don't know what causes them to be which color.
WHY ARE THEY DIFFERENT COLORS??? (These emails are from the same person). At first I wondered "oh hey maybe the Red ones are from people without Gmail?" and then that did not make sense, since both Adam and I have Gmail. And all the green ones I have noticed are from @wpi accounts. Clearly this sort of categorization MAKES NO SENSE.
Anyway, Ken went to bed sometime around 5ish. Unfortunately, by then the neighbor's rooster had decided "Oh look! It is dawn!" even though there was not even a hint of light in the sky yet. So I am left with my comic/blogs/rooster and then suddenly
Digsby, my chat client of choice, decides to make this really strange noise. I am not sure what is going on, since I am not receiving messages and no one is signing on/off that I know of (plus it doesn't usually make noise when people sign on/off).
Now the rest of the bird population is awake and chirping at each other and I am getting hungry. It sounds like breakfast is in order.
EDIT: This post was made during a period of extreme sleep deprivation. While I am still very confused about the different colored phis in my Gmail inbox, the rest of this post is pretty irrelevant to life.
